The best roof prism binoculars from Olympus, the Magellans are go-anywhere models that take whatever you can dish upon them. These are impressively sleek for an 10x42 unit, quite light for its class and remarkably easy to handhold. &3160;All of the Magellan series have a tripod thread and accept the optional tripod adapter (#108951) for extended periods of "glassing". The 10x42 is a better choice for more distant stadium sports and birdwatching.

The included neoprene case is fine for packing the unit away in a duffel bag, but isn't exactly a practical accompaniment while walking with your binocular because you can't attach it to anything. The recommended case is equipped with both a belt loop and strap and will not require you to readjust your interpupillary distance setting to get in and out.
